"To promote the education of Healthcare Textile Managers"
INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION for HEALTHCARE TEXTILE MANAGMENT
About Us

             A Sense of History

The Association of Cooperative Hospital Laundries (ACHL) as it was called then, was founded by a group of progressive General Managers in 1969.

Their goal was to create an environment where a free-flowing exchange of ideas and information could be shared for the mutual benefit of all members of the organization.

In September 1980, the name of the association was changed to The International Association of Hospital Textile Management (IAHTM) reflecting the membership of both Americans and Canadians.  In 2001, the word "Healthcare" was substituted for the word "Hospital" again to reflect their larger role in the healthcare community.

Today IAHTM is one of the largest healthcare laundry organizations in the world. Providing service to almost 3000 healthcare facilities in the U.S. and Canada. Our members produced over 650,000,000 lbs of clean linen this past year.
